DIGI records its second-best monthly figure in history for number portability in September with 175,700—a 12% increase over 2025

DIGI Spain (DIGI), the DIGI Communications Group’s telecommunications operator in Spain, recorded over 175,700 number porting transactions in September, representing an increase of more than 12% compared to the same month in 2025. This figure also marks the company's second-best monthly record in history for line transfers.

Of these porting transactions, 149,900 involved mobile lines—also the second-best monthly figure in DIGI's history for this category—while over 25,800 involved fixed-line transfers.

With these figures, the operator has totalled more than 444,700 number transfers in the third quarter of the year, an increase of over 6% compared to the previous quarter (April–June) and over 13% compared to the same period (July–September) in 2025.

Since January, DIGI has accumulated more than 1,355,000 ports, a figure more than 14% higher than the line transfers recorded during the first nine months of the previous year.

Furthermore, the operator has now led the market in number portability in Spain for 25 consecutive months, recording over 100,000 monthly transfers since September 2024.

DIGI currently has over 12 million active services in Spain; having surpassed 3 million fibre customers in September, it has consolidated its position as the third-largest operator by number of fixed broadband customers.

Additionally, the company has over 8 million mobile telephony customers, more than 905,000 fixed-line customers, and over 249,000 TV customers.

Service Quality

DIGI, the fourth-largest fixed and mobile telecommunications operator in Spain, remains committed to offering its customers quality services at competitive prices. It actively listens to customer suggestions to implement service improvements, keeping their actual needs in mind.

In this regard, September marked the fifth anniversary of the launch of PRO-DIGI—the operator's fibre service offering speeds of up to 10 Gbps. This service made DIGI a pioneer in the Spanish residential market back in 2021, utilizing XGS-PON technology designed to deliver maximum speed and low latency for internet access.

Data from the first half of 2026 shows that DIGI’s SMART fibre network reached over 14.84 million households (with 95% utilizing XGS-PON technology). This network was once again recognized as "Spain's fastest fibre network" during the first half of 2026 by the prestigious Speedtest Awards™ from Ookla®, marking over five consecutive years of holding the title for the fastest network nationwide.

Furthermore, to continue providing quality services and the best home connectivity experience at competitive prices, the operator recently doubled the speed of its 1 Gbps SMART Fibre plan at no extra cost; customers now enjoy 2 Gbps for the same price of 20 euros per month.

DIGI has also just added Video on Demand (VOD) to its television service—again at no additional cost to customers—offering access to over 5,000 titles across a wide range of categories, including movies, series, TV shows, documentaries, and other forms of entertainment.

Investment and Job Creation

DIGI invested €205 million in the first half of 2026, a 36% increase compared to the previous year. This investment was primarily allocated to the rollout of state-of-the-art, ultra-fast fibre-optic networks and its own mobile network, with the aim of delivering increasingly better services to its customers.

In this regard, the operator—which already ranks second in terms of workforce size—conducts all business activities using its own direct staff, offers job stability, and fosters career development plans for all employees. DIGI currently employs over 11,900 people in Spain.
