DIGI Spain (DIGI), the telecoms operator of the DIGI Communications Group in Spain, has announced that, as of today, it is doubling the speed of its 1 Gbps Fibra SMART tariff at no extra cost, meaning customers will enjoy 2 Gbps for the same price of 20 euros a month.

This development reinforces the operator’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of technology, offering its customers high-quality services and the best home connectivity experience at competitive prices.

The new 2 Gbps tariff allows customers to enjoy benefits such as downloading large files more quickly and a smoother experience when gaming online or streaming content.

2 Gbps with DIGI

From today, new customers will be able to sign up for 2 Gbps Fibra SMART for 20 euros a month, provided that Fibra SMART and XGS-PON coverage are available in their area. This new tariff includes a router featuring XGS-PON technology and Wi-Fi 7, which offers up to 30 per cent more Wi-Fi coverage in the home, as well as higher speeds, lower latency and greater capacity to connect multiple devices simultaneously, stably and efficiently.

Subscriptions can be taken out via the operator’s website, at its retail outlets, or by calling 1200 (free from the DIGI network) or 919 120 120 (from another operator). Customers can also get in touch via the operator’s chat service or WhatsApp.

Customers who already have a 1 Gbps Fibra SMART subscription will, depending on the router model they have installed, be able to enjoy the 2 Gbps automatically from today, or will need to upgrade their equipment to a Wi-Fi 7 router if XGS-PON coverage is available in their area. You can check via Mi DIGI, the operator’s customer portal, whether you are already enjoying 2 Gbps or whether you need to upgrade your equipment to benefit from this upgrade.

In the latter case, they can request a router replacement by contacting DIGI. The change involves a one-off fee of 30 euros for self-installation, or 60 euros if they prefer a DIGI technician to carry out the installation and collect the old router.

The SMART fibre network has been recognised by Ookla® as “Spain’s fastest fibre network” for more than five consecutive years and stands out for offering the lowest latency nationwide. Furthermore, the roll-out of DIGI’s XGS-PON technology now covers 95 per cent of the network deployed by the company in Spain.
