DIGI records the lowest latency nationwide and is once again the operator with the “Fastest Fibre Network in Spain”

DIGI, the telecommunications operator of the DIGI Communications Group in Spain, has once again been recognised as having the “Fastest Fibre Network in Spain” in the first half of 2025, according to data from the prestigious Ookla® Speedtest Awards™, and has recorded the lowest latency nationwide.

Speedtest®, Ookla®’s speed testing platform, recorded more than 13 million user measurements across Spain during the first half of 2025 and has recognised DIGI with the “Fastest Fibre Network in Spain” award since 2021.

As a result, the operator has now been the fastest for more than four years, reaffirming its commitment to consistently delivering high-quality services built on advanced technology at competitive prices.

According to Speedtest® results, DIGI achieved a score of 77.29 out of a maximum of 100 in the Speed Score™.

Speed Score is a metric that measures the performance of fixed broadband networks, based on upload and download speeds and latency reported by users.

In addition to speed, these tests also highlight the low latency of DIGI’s fibre network, the lowest nationwide, resulting in smoother browsing. This enhances the user experience when streaming content, gaming online or taking part in videoconferences.

The results of all these tests are published in Ookla®’s report for Spain.

In the words of Marius Varzaru, CEO of DIGI Spain: “We are proud to have received this award for more than four consecutive years, as it reflects our ongoing efforts to improve our infrastructure and deliver the best possible service to our customers. This recognition is the result of the work of our entire team and motivates us to continue striving to remain the fastest fibre operator in Spain.”

Stephen Bye, President and CEO of Ookla, a division of Ziff Davis, added: “We are incredibly proud to celebrate DIGI’s remarkable achievement in winning the Speedtest Award for the fastest fixed network for more than four consecutive years. This recognition highlights DIGI’s unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional connectivity in Spain. Consistently winning these Speedtest Awards is a testament to its dedication to excellence and innovation in the telecommunications industry.”

Currently, more than 12.5 million households already have access to DIGI’s fibre, thanks to the investment made in rolling out its own network over the past eight years.
