DIGI, the telecommunications operator of the DIGI Communications Group in Spain, today officially opened its new customer service centre in Valencia, which will create more than 150 jobs in the coming months in the city and adds to the two centres the operator already has in Madrid and Seville.
Located on Calle Guillem de Castro in Valencia and covering 450 square metres, this new customer service facility has been designed to provide more efficient management and enhance the overall customer experience for DIGI users.
At the opening of the centre, attended by Ester Olivas Cáceres, Director General for Entrepreneurship and Internationalisation at the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana; Francisco José Soria Calatayud, Director General for the Economy at the Regional Ministry of Finance and the Economy of the Generalitat Valenciana; and Lucía de Pedro López, Head of Investment Attraction at IVACE+i, an entity under the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana, DIGI’s Director of Services, Alfonso Esteve, thanked the authorities, attendees and everyone who made the project possible, and highlighted that “with this centre we improve our customer experience and strengthen our ties with Valencia and its people.”
“We have launched this centre aware of the importance of having a strong team that listens to and responds to our customers’ needs, and of the benefits of that team being part of DIGI, enabling us to deliver a close, transparent and honest service when presenting and explaining our offering,” he added in his speech.
The new customer service centre is equipped with the latest technology to ensure an excellent level of customer service. It also features workstations distributed throughout the space and training rooms, enabling employees to continue developing and acquiring new professional skills.
Creating jobs and value
As DIGI integrates the entire value chain, it carries out all core business activities in-house, offering employees stable, permanent roles, competitive salaries and additional benefits.
DIGI, which is now the second-largest operator by number of employees, with more than 10,000 nationwide, offers job stability and supports career development for all its employees.
Against this backdrop, DIGI’s HR Director, Virginia Guerrero, highlighted that “DIGI is committed to creating direct and stable employment; to providing its workforce with training focused on enhancing their knowledge and skills, leading to better performance in their roles, as well as offering opportunities for progression and growth within the company as an incentive to retain that talent, which also enables us to continue building the strong business project that the company represents today.”
With this opening, DIGI continues to create jobs and value across the region and for the whole of the Valencian Community. DIGI already has more than 470 employees in Valencia and more than 920 across the region, all directly employed by the operator.
Investment and rollout
DIGI now has more than 1 million customers in the Valencian Community, who benefit from mobile services and high-capacity internet connectivity at highly competitive prices. With fibre coverage now reaching 1.9 million households, more than 58% of all homes in the region, the operator continues to expand its network to bring high-speed connectivity to more and more families.
Mónica Barrera, Head of Regulation, Institutional Relations and External Communication, stated that this opening “represents a step forward in DIGI’s future ambitions, which evolve alongside its customers by focusing on solutions that directly address their needs, with the aim of offering the highest quality, at the best price and with the best possible service”.
The operator continues to make strong investments in executing its plan to roll out next-generation ultra-fast fibre networks, as well as in deploying its own mobile network, which began on 1 July. It currently reaches more than 12.5 million households with its SMART fibre network.
