DIGI marks five years as the operator with the “Fastest Fibre Network in Spain” and once again records the lowest latency nationwide

DIGI, the telecommunications operator of the DIGI Communications Group in Spain, has been recognised as having the “Fastest Fibre Network in Spain” in the second half of 2025 by the prestigious Ookla® Speedtest Awards, marking five consecutive years as the operator with the fastest fibre network nationwide. The operator has also once again recorded the lowest latency in Spain.

Speedtest®, Ookla®’s speed testing platform, recorded more than 13 million user-initiated tests across Spain during the second half of 2025 and has recognised DIGI with the “Fastest Fibre Network in Spain” award since 2021. This recognition underscores DIGI’s commitment to delivering high-quality services built on advanced technology at competitive prices.

According to Speedtest® results, DIGI achieved a score of 76.42 out of a maximum of 100 in the Speed Score™.

Speed Score is a metric that measures the performance of fixed broadband networks, based on upload and download speeds and latency reported by users.

These analyses also recognise DIGI as the operator with the lowest average latency compared to others. This enables customers to enjoy a better browsing experience when streaming videos, playing online games or making video calls.

The results of all these tests are published in Ookla®’s report for Spain.

In the words of Marius Varzaru, CEO of DIGI Spain: “It is very satisfying for DIGI to receive this recognition for the fifth consecutive year, as it highlights the investments made in building a high-performance fibre network, as well as the work our technical teams carry out every day to manage it, enabling us to provide our customers with the highest quality services.”

Stephen Bye, President and CEO of Ookla, a division of Ziff Davis, said: “DIGI’s continued success in winning the Speedtest Award for Fastest Fixed Network year after year between 2021 and 2025 is clear evidence of its leadership in the Spanish telecommunications sector. The Speedtest Awards are recognised for their rigorous and impartial testing, which makes this achievement even more significant. This recognition reflects DIGI’s commitment to delivering industry-leading network performance to its customers.”

Currently, more than 13 million households already have access to DIGI fibre, thanks to the company’s investment in fibre network rollout over the past eight years.
