DIGI Spain (DIGI), the telecommunications operator of the DIGI Communications Group in Spain, has announced that its SMART Fibre customers can upgrade their routers with the latest technological advancements and enjoy better Wi-Fi coverage in their homes.
Customers with a 1 Gbps SMART Fibre connection who do not have a Wi-Fi 7 router can request an upgrade starting today.
This feature will also be available starting in September for 500 Mbps SMART Fibre customers, who will be able to upgrade their router to Wi-Fi 6 if they don't already have one with these specifications. Similarly, 750 Mbps or 10 Gbps SMART Fibre customers will be able to upgrade their router to Wi-Fi 7 if they don't already have this device.

With this new feature, the operator continues to reinforce its commitment to listening to its customers in order to always offer them the best possible solution, and takes another step to ensure that its fiber customers, who already enjoy the fastest fiber network in Spain, get the most out of their connection.
Two options available to upgrade the router
The company offers its customers the possibility of choosing between two options when upgrading their router. On the one hand, customers can request delivery of the new equipment for self-installation at home for a one-time fee of €30, with instructions sent by the operator via email and SMS. Once the new router is installed, DIGI will provide the necessary instructions for returning the old equipment.
Alternatively, customers can request a technician visit to complete the installation and collect the old router for a one-time fee of €60.
In both cases, to update their router, customers must contact the operator by calling 1200 from a DIGI number, or 919 120 120 if their mobile number is with another operator.
Advantages of updating the Wi-Fi connection
By updating their router, customers can get the most out of their home wireless internet connection and enjoy the following benefits:
- Faster connection speeds for all devices connected simultaneously in the home.
- Lower latency for enjoying video games, video calls, or real-time applications.
- Improved performance and efficiency of the connection if the customers have multiple devices connected to their Wi-Fi.
