DIGI, the telecommunications operator of the DIGI Communications Group in Spain, has been the fastest-growing operator in the Spanish market for the past 16 consecutive quarters in terms of net additions in fibre and mobile telephony, and holds a 13% market share in fibre and a 12% market share in mobile telephony at the end of the fourth quarter of 2025, representing an increase of 2.7 p.p. and 1.8 p.p. respectively compared to the end of 2024.
This was stated on Thursday by the CEO of DIGI Spain and non-executive Vice President of DIGI Communications, Marius Varzaru, at a media briefing attended alongside Serghei Bulgac, CEO of DIGI Communications, which served as a prelude to the Group’s first Capital Markets Day held in Madrid.
In this context, the DIGI Communications Group’s management confirmed that the Spanish subsidiary’s annual revenue growth, averaging 20% per year since 2023, has been driven by the expansion of DIGI Spain’s FTTH network. As of the end of 2025, the operator’s Fibra SMART network reaches 13.7 million households, with a rollout target of around 21 million households by 2030.
They also noted that the penetration rate of the Fibra SMART network averaged 15.8% in 2025, equivalent to 2.2 million fibre customers, while networks built in earlier years, from 2019 onwards, have already exceeded 25% penetration. Meanwhile, newer networks are starting to achieve higher penetration rates compared to earlier deployments, reaching 7% for those rolled out in 2025.
In the words of Marius Varzaru: “Our customer-focused commercial strategy, with a long-term approach, is built on a service offering defined by transparent and simple pricing, responsive and timely attention to our customers’ needs, and a high-performance network, all of which are driving our continued strong growth and helping us move forward in our goal of making connectivity accessible to everyone.”
Serghei Bulgac added: “At DIGI Communications Group, we are very pleased with the results achieved through our investment in Spain and with the strong customer response to our value proposition, which motivates us to keep working every day to improve.”
Record performance in mobile and fibre lines
In addition, the CEO of DIGI Spain highlighted that the operator, the fourth-largest in the country by number of customers, achieved a net increase of 1.4 million mobile lines in 2025, its highest figure to date, bringing the total to 7.3 million lines.
In terms of fibre services, DIGI Spain reached 2.6 million customers, representing net growth of 0.63 million, also its best result on record, and positioning it as the third-largest operator by number of fibre customers in the residential segment in Spain since September 2025.
As for its mobile network, the operator, which currently has 700 active masts, has reaffirmed its target of activating 5,000 masts by the end of 2028 and a further 5,000 to reach a total of 10,000 by 2033.
Vertical integration and sales force
The operator, which manages the entire value chain, carries out all core business activities in-house, with less than 10% of its main operations outsourced. This enables a far more competitive cost structure while ensuring greater control over service quality.
According to data shared at the event, DIGI Spain’s FTTH network rollout is between 40% and 60% more cost-efficient than that of its competitors in Spain, reaching €49 per home passed in 2025. This allows the operator to offer highly competitive prices, between 25% and 50% lower than those of its competitors, while maintaining strong margins.
In addition, DIGI Spain’s directly employed sales force, comprising more than 2,400 promoters, over 200 stands and more than 75 company-owned shops , accounts for at least 85% of the company’s sales transactions, which has led DIGI Spain to achieve the highest Net Promoter Score (NPS) in the market compared to traditional brands over the past four years.
Investment and profitability
DIGI Spain is currently the fastest-growing telecommunications operator in Europe in terms of revenue.
In 2025, it generated €929 million in revenue, a 19% increase year-on-year, and reached EBITDA adjusted for operating leases of €175 million, up 15% compared to 2024.
The EBITDA margin adjusted for operating leases stood at 18.9% in 2025, rising to 21.6% in the second half of the year, coinciding with the start of the rollout of the operator’s own mobile network.
Leverage stood at 2.8x EBITDA adjusted for operating leases at the end of 2025, significantly reduced from 3.7x EBITDA in 2023.
Finally, the executives highlighted that DIGI invested a total of €468 million in Spain in 2025, including €99 million for the acquisition of 60MHz of mobile spectrum.
