DIGI Spain (DIGI), the telecommunications operator of the DIGI Communications Group in Spain, has announced the addition of a new feature that allows its customers to see on their mobile screens the numbers identified by the operator as potentially unwanted calls. This alert will help customers identify potentially malicious or annoying calls before answering them.
From now on, when the operator detects a call of this type, the warning in Spanish "Posible spam" will appear on the customer's mobile phone screen, providing them with more information to decide whether to answer the call and, if they do, to pay closer attention to avoid falling for scams.
With this, the company continues to strengthen its customers' security against the increase in malicious or unwanted calls, taking a further step after the implementation of measures incorporated in June 2025 with the entry into force of Ministerial Order TDF/149/2025, aimed at combating fraudulent and spam calls in Spain. These measures have allowed for the blocking of calls with false numbers, manipulated origins (spoofing), or national numbers originating from abroad and not corresponding to roaming services. These numbers are mostly used in fraudulent practices such as obtaining personal and banking data or verification codes through identity theft techniques, among others.
DIGI Committed to the Security of its Networks and Services
DIGI remains committed to helping its customers protect themselves against potential fraud attempts through various initiatives aimed at improving their security, especially online.
Among these initiatives, the company provides its customers, and all users of new technologies, with an specific Cybersecurity section on its blog, where it regularly publishes information and recommendations to help them identify the most common fraudulent practices in digital environments and, at the same time, learn about the main preventative measures.
Furthermore, the operator regularly reminds its customers that it never requests bank details or passwords by phone, SMS, email, or WhatsApp, nor does it contact them by phone or any other means to communicate price increases for their contracted plans. In addition, all official DIGI websites use the domain digimobil.es, and all communication is conducted exclusively through its official channels.
Now, the addition of the "Posible spam" warning to incoming calls joins all these initiatives, with which DIGI seeks to ensure that its customers can use its services with greater security and peace of mind.
