DIGI signs its first National Collective Bargaining Agreement with trade unions

DIGI, the telecommunications operator of the DIGI Communications Group in Spain, and representatives of the largest trade unions at national level signed on Wednesday the agreement establishing the company’s first unified framework for regulating working conditions and labour relations.

The agreement, which will run for four years, includes a job security clause guaranteeing employment levels throughout its term.

It also guarantees current salary levels for all employees. To this end, an “Original Conditions Supplement” has been created, which is non-compensable, non-absorbable and subject to annual increases.

The agreement will come into force following its publication in the Spanish Official State Gazette (BOE), once the corresponding registration process has been completed.

Uniform working conditions for all employees

Among other aspects, the agreement sets out a single working schedule for the entire company; 23 working days of annual leave; a 2% annual salary review throughout the term of the agreement; and, for those who previously received meal vouchers as a benefit, a salary increase of €2,400, of which €600 will be subject to annual increases, alongside a flexible benefits system allowing employees to access meal vouchers and other benefits tailored to their needs.

In addition, it includes private health insurance funded by the company; life and total permanent disability insurance; long-service awards at 5, 10, 15 and 20 years of service; and fully funded DIGI fibre at employees’ homes.

The agreement also regulates travel and on-site work, addressing concerns raised by employees across different regions.

In conclusion, the agreement standardises and harmonises working conditions for employees of DIGI SPAIN TELECOM SLU and DIGI SALES FORCE SLU, addressing the issues of greatest concern to staff while allowing them to maintain their current pay conditions.

Ongoing dialogue and regular meetings

The process began in February, when DIGI invited trade unions to establish the Negotiating Committee for its first national collective bargaining agreement. Since then, five months of intensive work and negotiation between DIGI and the unions have taken place, with both parties maintaining ongoing dialogue and regular meetings to align positions, ultimately reaching this agreement and moving from more than 80 provincial agreements (one per province and entity) to a single national collective bargaining agreement.

Both the operator and the trade unions have expressed their satisfaction with the outcome and congratulated each other on the effort and dedication shown in reaching this agreement.
